Comic-Con Convention
July 23-26,2009
San Diego, CA
WOW! And I don’t mean “World of Warcraft.” I’m talking about the only expression that truly captures the zeitgeist of Comic-Con. I knew I’d see the typical Star Wars Characters, like several Princess Leias (all of whom were hotter than a summer afternoon on Tatooine), and Boba Fetts (self explanatory), but I didn’t expect to see so many video game and new movie characters. There were several Master Chief Petty Officer John-117s, and a few Cobras and Snake Eyes (PLEASE don’t make the mistake of mixing these two up…even GI Joe can’t save you if you do), and of course a Joker or two.
Did people realize how hot it would be? Bender from Futurama probably had a heat stroke, while the Michael Jackson wannabe was having a different type of stroke when some of the younger gamers walked by (too soon?).
In the middle of all this madness was the Galaxy4Gamers street team. We posted-up on several corners and spread the good word to the masses. At last there is a video game site that allows you to put your money where your mouth is. Think you’re the best at Halo? Prove it. Think anyone who uses grenades in Call of Duty is a frag-fag? Set up your own specific game rules before each tournament.
We signed up hundreds of soon-to-be professional gamers, and handed out thousands of dollars worth of free merchandise to our favorite type of crowd: the Comic-Con CyberAthletes and CyberSoldiers! So thanks for making Comic-Con a success on yet another front, and we look forward to seeing you online at Galaxy4Gamers.com!
Remember, if you enter the special promotional code “ComicCon” when you sign up, you are eligible for special bonuses including $5 in your account and the “Original Gamester” (OG) status for the first few months, for FREE!
Also remember to look for your pictures up on our site from the Comic-Con convention!
